FF 2012 Feature & Follow #83
Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read  This weeks featured blog is http://beefcakeandbabes.com/ and the weekly question is:

Q: BeefcakeandBabes Asks: I like unique names for characters and am looking forward to coming up with some when I start writing. What’s the most unique character name you’ve come across?

I have to agree with our host, I love the names in the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Rehvenge, Zsadist, Rhage etc. Their names give you insight into their personalities. I love what JR Ward did with their names so unique and powerful.

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Book Blogger Pride: What do you take pride in when it comes to blogging?
I take pride in all of my work. I'm actually kind of anal when it come to it. Everything must be just so perfect. I'm way into the aesthetic of the blog. I want it to look nice. Visually pleasing and all. I have a problem with errors. I must correct any error that I find or it will bother me. I just want everything perfect.

I'm afraid I pick over my words too much when it comes to book reviews. I know that authors work hard on their work and I find it difficult to criticize. I take pride in being able to be honest but not degrading or mean. I'd hate to hurt anyones feeling just because of my own. So as a blogger I take pride in the appearance and presentation of my blog as well as my honest yet uplifting opinion.

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read  This weeks featured blog is Book Chow Down and the weekly question is:

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?
I would have to read my favorite book over and over again. Mediocre books don't keep my attention long. The hard part about this question is that I don't have a favorite book. Most books become my favorite for a while then I'll read something else and that book will become my favorite then the cycle continues.

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Love Stories: What are some of your favorite fictional love stories?

Isabel and Varen in Nevermore

Noah and Allie in The Notebook
Zsadist and Bella in Lover Awakened

Q: When you’ve read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)
I AM a HOARDER!

Like cookie monster, only with books. Nom Nom Nom Nom!

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Most Popular: What blog post has gotten the most
comments/activity on your blog this year?

The one were I photoshopped myself reading Hunger Games got quite a few comments. So did the Adele Music Post.

But mostly the weekly memes get the most hits. That is why I always try to participate!

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read  This weeks featured blog is Lauren Gets Literal and the weekly question is:

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don’t like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

My biggest pet peeves would be too many details. Sure, I'd like to know that Suzy is sitting under a tree. I might even like to know that it is fall and the leaves are gently falling from the oak or whatever type tree. I don't need to know the species of the tree, the bugs that inhabit it or tons of flowery detail about the direction of the wind bending the branches making blah blah blah. Some writer get so caught up in ornate details that is stalls the story. I want to know details but not too many minute little detail because then I'm thinking about the tree not the main character.

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Writing Reviews 101: What's your process for writing book reviews?
Any tips or suggestions you would recommend to other bloggers?

I have absolutely no process. I read the book and as I'm reading sometimes I make notes but most of the time I don't. When I'm finished I try to write the review as soon as possible but sometimes I don't quite get to it. Then I have to go back and look over the book again to remember what I thought about it while I was reading. My suggestions to other bloggers: don't be like me. Everytime I start a book I say I'm going to look more at the writing structure and grammar and really critique the writing style not just the subject and content but then I start writing from the heart and say plainly what I felt about the book. I don't think my reviews would be considered formal book reviews. I really should get better at it and I will : D

OAN: I'm glad Thanksgiving and NaNoWriMo are over. Things will pick up around here next week. I'm so looking forward to my two week vacay coming at the end of December. I plan to read and read and read. Can't wait!

Q: Today’s Question is something new, an activity. We want to see what you look like! Take a pic with you and your current read! Too shy? Boo! Just post a fun pic you want to share.
Here I am!

Confession: This pic is totally photoshopped because I don't have a camera or my book with me. However, I'm reading Hunger Games and I pretty much look the same now as I did in this pic.

I also want to share this pic because I'm obsessed with it.

I have it as the desktop on all my computers. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I'm not ready for Christmas per se, I'm ready for Christmas lights. I love them. Is it too early to hang Christmas lights on my balcony?

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Gateway Books: Which particular books opened you up to a new genre?

I know you are tired of seeing this book on my blog but Twilight opened me up to the paranormal YA genre. I had no clue about it. I hadn't read much in the paranormal genre at all before then. I had a LA Bank Vampire Huntress Book and that was about the limit of my paranormal experience. Now I can't get enough!

Q: What superhero is your alter-ego?

She-Ra: The Princess of Power. Not only a Princess but a Princess of POWER. She had a protection sword and rode a unicorn. All my childhood, I wanted to be her. I'm not sure if that counts as an alter-ego but my alter-ego is the master of the universe too (lol). Plus, I just want a unicorn.

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books. This weeks question is:

Q. What is your favorite type of candy?

Lindt Lindor Truffles! OMGEE, I love these things. And as far as candy goes they only have like 15 carbs per three truffles! Makes me feel a little better about eating these rather than snickers or something. Aww man, now I want some! Tropical Skittles are a close second. (P.S. Pic to the left is all I want for Christmas)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee.  This weeks featured blog is Jagged Edge and the weekly question is:

Q. If you could pick one character in a book, movie or television show to swap places with, who would it be?

Well, I'm still on a Vampire Diaries high from last night so I'm going to have to say Caroline
She's a kickass vampire chick now plus she has a hot werewolf boyfriend. I'm not sure about her character in the books (because I haven't read them yet) but on the show, love her!

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

To-Be-Read's: How big is your pile? Which book keeps getting pushed down the stack, but you keep meaning to read it?

My TBR pile is huge. I never seem to get to them. It's a mixture of not enough time and getting distracted, but it keeps growing and growing. I'm always finding new books that I want to read. If I get interested in a book and I actually get it at the moment, I usually drop everything else and start reading the new book. One book in particular that keeps getting pushed back is Hunger Games. I swear each time I'm reading another book that it will be next yet I get interested in something else and it continues to sit on my shelf all lonely. I promise though. It's next!

I've been slacking this week. Dealing with personal issues, I haven't done much reading, writing or blogging. I'm still in the process of reading Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I hope I will finish this weekend. Even though I've been MIA most of this week, I'm going to participate in all my Friday stuff.

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee.  This weeks featured blog is Obsession with Books and the weekly question is:

Q. Do you have a favorite series that you read over and over again? Tell us a bit about it and why you keep on revisiting it?

Twilight is the only series I have read more than once. Mainly because I read all the books before New Moon, the movie, came out so I like to re-read them right before I see the next movie so that I can see what the little differences are between the books and the movies. In fact, I'm slooooowly re-reading Breaking Dawn for the November release of Breaking Dawn Part 1, the movie.

New Trailer!
OMGEEEEEE, I can't wait until November 18th!
I would love to get married where they got married in the woods. Sigh.

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Reading Challenges: Did you sign up for any this year?
How has your progression been?

I did and I suck. I signed up for the Chunkster Challenge and I think I read one. I also signed up for the Vampire Challenge and I've read three, I think. Anyways, yeah, I'm no good at challenges. When I decide I want to read something, I read it right then. I have a habit of picking something up and getting into even though I'm midway through another book.

Anywhoo, next week should be a MUCH better week in my world, hopefully. I will finish 13 Reasons Why and review it next week then get started on the next book which is....hmmm, I don't know yet : )
I'm also thinking about starting a weekly meme on Thursday about books or probably writing since there are so many memes on books. Would you participate if I did? Please?

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee.  This weeks featured blog is Librarian Mouse  and the weekly question is:

Q. It's that pesky magic book fairy again! She has another wish: What imaginary book world would you like to make a reality?

I still want to live in the land of the elves from Lord of the Rings. If I became a multimillionaire I would build that world with the trees, the water and the beautiful buildings and I would frolick barefoot. Anyone could live there with me as long as they agreed to frolick barefoot at least twice a day and stare pensively at the waterfalls.

Beautful! There should be more places like this in real life. Why live in a concrete jungle? I want to live here. Ok, I'm not going to off on a tangent.

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books This weeks question is:

Q. As a book blogger, how do you introduce yourself in your profile?
I'm not very good at introducing myself, both in person and online. I tend to draw a blank on what I want to say. Nothing seems interesting enough and I end up being short and vague. I think I did a pretty good job here with introducing myself. I tend to want to include all of my interests and hobbies.

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Q. Book Disappointments: Have you ever come across a book you were so stoked to read, but it failed miserably in your eyes?

There are a few books I was excited about purchasing or recieving and then just couldn't get into it. I tend to have a short attention span unless something really gets to me so books have to grab me and grab me hard early on or I get bored. Two books really failed to grab me.

I have the first two book of both series. It seems like such a waste to have them and not read them. So one day I might come up with a challenge to read five books that I never finished or something like that.

Oh and Cut, I wanted to read this so bad, I ordered it and I was so disappointed.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Oh, did anyone else watch the season premiere of Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle? If so, let's discuss!

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee.  This weeks featured blog is Pedantic Phooka and the weekly question is:

Q. Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story?  If so, which one??
I haven't had to deal with this often. Usually the bad guys are really bad and gross and I want them destroyed. However, the "bad guy" in Insatiable by Meg Cabot, Lucien Antonescu wasn't that bad and I wanted him to end up with Meena.

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books This weeks question is:

Q. “Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?”

I jump between genres, mostly YA, YA paranormal and Adult fiction. If I couldn't read any of those, I would probably read more historical fiction.

Q. In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series the paranormal creature in question "comes out of the closet" and makes itself known to the world. Which mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?

I'm still stuck on the vampires. I know there are alot of other cool creatures like fairies, angels, goddesses etc. but its just something about vampires I like. They're good, they're bad, they blend in. I wish they would come out of the closet. I can't get with the zombies. There is nothing sexy about a zombie.

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books This weeks question is:

“Non-book-related this week!! Do you have pets?”

I do. I have a fluffy little kitty cat.

Her name is Nero. She likes to lay on her head and beg for rubs.

She is so photogenic.

tgif is a weekly meme hosted by GReads!  This week's question is:

Book Associations:
Which genre, authors, or particular books do you think
people associate with your reading style?
I'm kind of all over the place but I would say mostly YA, mostly paranormal. My hubs associates me with that non-realistic teeny bopper stuff, as he calls it.
