Top Ten Tuesday

Today I thought I would participate in...

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This week we are talking about the top ten books that should be in your beach bag.
After much consideration I came up with my list of my top ten beach reads which translates into the top ten books I want to read this summer at the beach, by the pool, on the couch in air conditioning, you know.

Ok, so I got my beach bag
($62.00 @ torrid.com)

How cute is this bag, BTW? I must have it. I could fit books, snacks, bottled water, everything in this bag. On to the books...

1. The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell
Because I just love Carrie Bradshaw.

2. The Last Summer (of You & Me) by Ann Brashares
Because I love her stories.

3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Because it has been on my shelf forever

4. Overbite by Meg Cabot
Because I was hoping she would write a sequel to Insatiable.

5. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Because the movie comes out in November and its been over a year since I read this book

6. in Front of God and Everybody by KD McCrite
Because it just seems like a cute story.

7.  The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Because I've never read it

8. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Because I love true blood and I want to start a new series

9. Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
Just Because

10. Ten Thing We Did (and probably shouldn't have) by Sarah Mlynowski
Because unsupervised teenagers have the best adventures

What are your Top Ten Beach Reads?

Today's Obsession: Boxes

Yup, I'm moving. I'm excited but I'm also annoyed. I hate packing. HATE HATE HATE it. No, packing is fine. Moving boxes into a truck and unpacking is what I hate. Packing you find things you thought you lost ages ago. Plus it gives you an opportunity to throw away stuff you no longer need. So tonight we are having a packing party. Everyone gets a room, some boxes and a trash bag. Also, we are moving from a house back to an apartment. I've been living in a house for the past 5 or so years and I am looking forward to 24 hour maintenance, swimming pool, a new location, cheaper rent. Anyways, I'm surrounded by boxes.

I wonder how many boxes of books I will have once I'm finished packing?

He's got an idea. This would definitely save on Uhaul expenses!

Aww, Carrie and Big. I remember this episode.

Packing would be so much more fun if I had such pretty boxes.

All calm and serene. Its never like this in real life.

I wonder how many boxes of shoes I will have?

I promise by the end of next week I will probably look like this!

Waiting on Wednesday (6)

Overbite by Meg Cabot (TBR July 5th)
Meena Harper has a special gift, but it’s only now that anyone’s ever appreciated it. The Palatine Guard—a powerful secret demon-hunting unit of the Vatican—has hired her to work at their new branch in Lower Manhattan. With Meena’s ability to predict how everyone she meets will die, the Palatine finally has a chance against the undead.
Sure, her ex-boyfriend was Lucien Antonescu, son of Dracula, the prince of darkness. But that was before he (and their relationship) went up in flames. Now Meena’s sworn off vampires for good . . . at least until she can prove her theory that just because they’ve lost their souls doesn’t mean demons have lost the ability to love.
Meena knows convincing her co-workers—including her partner, Über-demon-hunter Alaric Wulf—that vampires can be redeemed won’t be easy . . . especially when a deadly new threat seems to be endangering not just lives of the Palatine, but Meena’s friends and family as well. But Meena isn’t the Palatine’s only hope. Father Henrique—aka Padre Caliente—New York City’s youngest, most charming priest, has also been assigned to the case.
So why doesn’t Meena—or Alaric—trust him? As she begins unraveling the truth, Meena finds her loyalties tested, her true feelings laid bare . . . and temptations she never even imagined existed impossible to resist.
This time, Meena may finally have bitten off more than she can chew.

I SOOOOOOO can't wait for this book to come out. I actually really like Insatiable.

Teaser Tuesday (6)

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Here are the rules: Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page, and BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!

"Yeah, I'm okay," I lie, wiping my mouth on the back of my hand. Gross, gross, gross. I'll bet his MySpace girl never throws up all over herself when they're together. I'll bet they're too busy having sex to eat anything that might cause her stomach to get all sketch. (page 112)
Aww, man can you imagine getting sick on three day road trip with your ex who dumped you for a girl he found on MySpace? Horrible.

Music Monday

Happy Music Monday! This is a weekly feature hosted by Gone with the Words where you post a video of a song that reminds you of something or someone I've read, anything that relates to it.

I just started reading Two-Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt this weekend. I'm about halfway through the book. They talk alot about music and songs in this book so its kind of hard to formulate your own sound. You tend to hear what they are talking about. There are several songs that play in my mind while reading this book but I have two narrowed done for the two main characters.

Courtney is still hurting from the breakup with Jordan. Jar of Hearts fits her perfectly.

Lauren kept describing Jordan as listening to "hardcore rap" and even Jordan said he wasn't listening to anything mainstream like Jay Z or 50 Cent which he referred to as posers. I'm not so sure about that. Jay Z definitely not. But Jordan would have to be listening to old school hardcore rap like Tupac or NWA but all I can hear is Lil' Wayne.

Yeah, Lil' Wayne fits him.
